Competition leader Jake showed no signs of a slip up this week as he continued his dream run, banking another 5 points. He has stretched his massive lead out to 5 now, skipping another point ahead of 2nd place Frank after he could only manage 4.
This round saw an ironing out of the main pack with some top tippers sinking back and now lower ones scoring well. The result is an amazing 10 tippers deadlocked on 31 points, all equal 6th, while Chris, Steve and David crept ahead of this pack.
The next round could be cutthroat for some in the main pack. Round 8 is 50/50s a plenty and a bad round for anyone fighting in that group could see them tumble down the order to 16th or lower.
And for those queries about what happens with the drawn game between the Storm and the Warriors, it is simple. Nobody tipped the result correctly, so nobody gets points!
Good luck for round 8.

Jake Extends Lead with Tigers Tip
An upset win by the Wests Tigers has handed Jake another buffer in his gap to 2nd place. He now has a massive 4 point lead over Frank. Further back in equal third is Tom, Nick and three time champion Steve.
Brendo has lost his early form as he recorded a shocker this weekend, only scoring 2. He has dropped to equal 6th, 7 points off the pace.
Former leader Tom had another ordinary round of 4, while Frank matched Jake's effort over the last two weeks by backing up his full round with 6.
Starting to Recover: Dom
After being outright last, he has scored 12 points over 2 weeks to recover to equal 24th.

Full Round Inevitable
After a round full of upsets last week, the NRL has returned with a round of minimal suprise. Our comp average is more than double what it was last week.
With only one game remaining in round 5, we have 3 tipsters sitting on a perfect round so far. Jake, Frank and Brendo have tipped perfectly this weekend. Match of the round Bulldogs v Rabbitohs will decide which of these 3 tipsters record the first rull round of 2009.
Jake and Frank have gone with the Doggies while Brendo has tipped top of the table Rabbits. Suprisingly counting all tipsters, 20 have gone with Souths and 13 the Dogs. Souths are also slight favourites with the bookies.
A Bulldogs win will see Jake take a commanding early competition lead, the gap will blow out to 3 points back to Brendo in 2nd. A Rabbitohs win will see things remain tight at the top, Brendo will hit the lead with a one point gap back to Jake and again a one point gap to Tom.
Either way, our comp will easily record its best average this round.

Champ Shines in Tough Tipping Week
Eight tipsters scored only one point, thirteen managed two in what will end up the toughest tipping round of the year. While Tom and Jake managed respectable 'threes' to keep their names on top of the table, three time champion Steve kicked his season into gear with five correct picks.
After trailing the lead by four after round three, Steve halved the deficit in one week.
